What filter set protects against
Filter set includes 2 filters:
- Extract filter – F7 (ePM1 55%) – for MVHR protection
- Supply filter – F7 (ePM1 55%) – for indoor air protection
This filter set follows the ISO 16890 standard for particle filtration efficiency.
The F7 filters capture around 55% of very fine particles as small as 1 micron, including bacteria, smog, tobacco smoke particles, combustion dust, spores, and wildfire smoke particles. One of them filters the air extracted from your indoor space and protects the MVHR unit by reducing visible dust and general build-up in the ventilation system. Meanwhile, the other one cleans the outdoor air supplied into your premises, improving indoor air quality and protecting your health.
Atrea typically recommends using the same filter grade on both the extract and supply sides (F7+F7 or G4+G4). However, to reduce costs, you may choose to use the higher filter class (F7) on the supply side only, and a more affordable G4 filter on the extract side. Usage and maintenance
Atrea recommends replacing the filters every 6 months, to ensure optimal air quality and system performance.
However, replacement frequency may vary depending on factors such as:
- Air pollution levels (e.g. urban vs rural areas)
- Allergies or respiratory sensitivities
- Indoor pets or smoking
- Dust from nearby construction sites
If your system includes a filter change indicator, follow its alerts. Otherwise, check the filters visually – if they appear very dirty or clogged, it's time to replace them.

These panel filters are made using Minipleat technology, a dense pleating method where the filter media is tightly folded and bonded with glue. This glue fixation keeps the pleats evenly spaced and stable, ensuring consistent filtration across the entire surface. Compared to standard pleat types, this design offers a larger effective filtration area, more uniform airflow distribution, improved particle capture, and a lower pressure drop.
