How do I find the right filter for my Recom heat recovery unit?

The simplest way is the model code on the front cover label of the Recom unit. We stock filter sets for the Recom 2RT, 2SR, 3SEF, 3SR, 4RT, 4S(E), 4SR, 6S(E), 6SR, EPP2SE and EPP3SE.
If the label has faded or become illegible, measure the extract and supply filters directly – length, width and thickness in millimetres – and match the dimensions on our product pages.
What filter classes are used in Recom heat recovery units?

The Recom filter sets we stock are G4+F7: a G4 filter that protects the heat exchanger from coarse dust and a fine F7 (ePM1) filter that cleans the incoming air of fine dust and pollen. They are made in our house brand to the original dimensions for a precise fit.
How often should Recom filters be replaced?

For Recom units it's recommended to check the filters every 2–3 months and replace them once you notice reduced airflow or increased noise. The standard maximum interval is 3–6 months, but in a dusty environment or near a busy street it's worth checking more often.
Regular checks protect not only air quality but also the recovery unit's own heat exchanger from premature contamination.
Is it worth choosing an equivalent filter instead of an original Recom one?

Yes – our Recom filter sets are house-brand G4+F7 sets made in the EU to the original dimensions and ISO 16890 filtration classes, at a lower price than the manufacturer's originals. Since filters need replacing several times a year, the price difference adds up over a year.
If you're unsure of the exact size, send us the model code or the filter dimensions before ordering – we'll check the match in advance.
Can I use a higher-class F7 filter in a Recom unit instead of the standard G4?

You don't need to look for a separate upgrade: every Recom filter set we stock already pairs a G4 filter, which protects the heat exchanger, with a fine F7 (ePM1) filter for the supply air that captures fine particles and pollen much better than G4.
If your unit has so far run with G4 on both sides, the F7 filter adds a little airflow resistance, so check the filters regularly and replace them as soon as airflow drops.
