Filter types and what they protect against
Our replacement filter sets for Salda units are designed to ensure optimal air quality and system performance by combining two filters with different filtration roles. Available filter options:
- G4 filters (ISO Coarse 60%, 65% or 75%) on the extract and supply side: ideal for capturing larger particles like soil particles, large pollen grains, plant debris, insect wings, sawdust, sand and textile lint.
- M5 filters (ISO ePM10 50%, 55%, 65% or ePM1 55%) on the extract and supply side: ideal for capturing larger particles like pollen, mould spores, pet dander, and house dust.
- F7 filters (ISO ePM1 60% or 70%) on the supply side: high-efficiency filters that capture very fine particles, including bacteria, smog, tobacco smoke particles, combustion dust, spores, and wildfire smoke particles.
Usage and maintenance
To keep your MVHR system running efficiently and your indoor air clean, we recommend replacing the filters every 3–6 months. However, this depends on your environment, if you have pets, or nearby construction.

Which Salda heat recovery unit series do you carry filters for?
We stock filters for Salda's widely installed residential lines:
- RIRS series (EKO 3.0)
- RIS series
- Smarty series (2X, 3X, 4X and 2R)
They are common across Lithuania and the neighbouring Baltic and Nordic markets. The series and airflow size are printed on the unit's label.
How do I determine the exact model of my Salda Smarty unit (e.g. 2R Ver Plus)?
On Salda Smarty series units, the model code is usually made up of several parts – for example, "Smarty 2R Ver Plus" indicates the size group (2R), while "Ver Plus" marks a specific version with additional features. This whole code, not just "Smarty", is shown on the front cover or inside on the technical data plate.
Since filter size depends on the specific version, giving the exact model code when ordering lets you get the right size set straight away, without needing to measure the filter itself.
What filter class is used in Salda RIS and Smarty units?
Most Salda RIS and RIRS EKO 3.0 units use an M5 filter on the extract side and a fine F7 (ePM1) filter on the supply side, and for some sizes an M5+M5 set is available too. Older RIS models differ — the RIS 400 P1/P2 5.0 takes G4+G4 and the RIS 400 VED G4+M5. Smarty 2X, 3X and 4X units use a G4 extract filter with either a G4 or an F7 supply filter, while the Smarty 2R takes M5 filters. Check your exact model before ordering.
Are the filters of the RIS and Smarty series interchangeable?
No. RIS and RIRS EKO 3.0 units mostly use M5 extract and F7 supply filters, while Smarty 2X, 3X and 4X units use a G4 extract filter with either a G4 or an F7 supply filter, and the Smarty 2R takes M5 filters. Filter sizes also differ between the ranges and, within the same series, by airflow capacity – so always match by series and model.
If you're unsure, send us the dimensions of your current filter before ordering – that way you'll avoid having to send back the wrong size.
Is it worth choosing an equivalent filter instead of an original Salda one?
Yes – our equivalent Salda filters match the originals in filtration class (G4, M5 or F7/ePM1, depending on the model) and exact dimensions, but are made in the EU and cost less. Since filters need replacing several times a year, the savings add up. For many Salda models we also stock original sets, so you can choose either.
There's practically no difference in quality, as long as the filter is made to the same standards and fits your model exactly.
